A Week Dedicated to our Founders
In 1918, the Taborian Hall, the building that houses the Dreamland Ballroom, was completed. The Knights and Daughters of Tabor (a black fraternal organization) spent a week from July 14 - 20 celebrating the completion of their new headquarters and home on W. 9th St.
To honor this week long dedication process from 1918, Friends of Dreamland invites you to dine in Doc's and behold the ballroom! So on the afternoon of the 20th, come down to Doc's Pool Hall (the State St. side garage at the back of the building) for a brown bag luncheon, cold drinks, and a walking tour of Dreamland Ballroom and W. 9th St.

Edwin Cook Brewer was a founding member of the Arkansas-based Mid-Southern Watercolorists in 1970 and helped his father, artist Adrian Brewer, organize the Arkansas Art League in the early 1950s. Edwin Brewer and his twin brother, Adrian, were born on January 9, 1927, in Little Rock (Pulaski County) to Adrian Brewer and Edwina Cook Brewer. The twins had one sister. Brewer received his early art instruction in the studios of his father and his grandfather, Nicholas Richard Brewer, both renowned artists. His grandfather was known as a portrait painter and was represented in multiple exhibitions of the National Academy of Design in New York City beginning in 1885...continued at

A beautiful high ceilinged room built in the early 20th century, the Dreamland Ballroom was a centural peice of the historic 9th St. distrect's entertainment industry in downtown Little Rock, AR. A great venue for weddings, receptions, and dances.

Dancing into Dreamland is Friends of Dreamland's major annual fundraiser. 2018 marks the 9th year running! Our fabulous board members and volunteers work all year to find local dancers, from profesional troupes to amatuer couples and dance classes, to compete in front of judges and the audience.
